Ello in your AI assistant

Find any shop on Ello from Claude or ChatGPT.

Ask your assistant for something you need. It searches the shops on Ello, shows their own prices and stock, and gives you the link to buy in the shop's chat.

Add Ello

Ello's server address is https://api.ello.africa/mcp. It needs no account and no sign-in.

Claude

  1. Open Claude, then Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add, then Add custom connector. Name it Ello and paste https://api.ello.africa/mcp.
  3. Leave sign-in off, add it, then press Connect.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings, then Apps & Connectors, then Advanced, and turn on developer mode.
  2. Create a connector named Ello with https://api.ello.africa/mcp and no authentication.
  3. In a new chat, choose Ello from the tools menu.

What it can do

  • Search productsProducts across every shop on Ello for a few words and an optional top price. Each comes with its shop, price, stock and a link to buy it.
  • Search businessesShops by name, handle or what they do, such as a pharmacy in Lekki. Only shops that are verified or have something for sale.
  • Get businessOne shop by its handle: who they are, whether Ello verified them, their customers' rating, and everything they sell.

  • “Is there a verified pharmacy in Lekki on Ello?”

Buying

Your assistant cannot place an order or take payment. Each product has a link that opens the shop on ello.africa with your order started in the shop's chat, where the shop confirms it and you pay.

Privacy and data

Ello's connector only reads what shops publish on their public Ello pages. It asks for no account and receives nothing about you beyond the words of the search. It cannot change anything on Ello. Read the full privacy policy.
